It is fall and Chili Cookoff is just around the corner. Every two years Fulton County Chapter of Tri Kappa has a Chair Affair. This started two years ago. So, this is our second annual Chair Affair. This is a brain child of our member, Michelle Nelson. Her mother, had had experience with chair affairs where she lived. Two years ago Michelle spear headed this. Little did we know what success it would be. We collected chairs from area salvage yards, antique stores and yard sales. We wrote to different artists in our area and ask if they would be interested in painting or decorating a chair with their original form of art. All interested artist were invited to pick one of the chairs that we had or obtain their own chair. We were delighted in the art we received! We exhibited 23 chairs in the local retail merchants windows for approximately one month prior to the cookoff. The chairs were auctioned by Phil Thompson a local auctioneer who donated his time and expertise. We collected over $1500 for local scholarships and philanthropic endeavors! We were so grateful for the generousity of the people that came to the auction and gave us the opportunity to support others in their endeavors.
Above, you will see my chair entitled "I Love You, A Bushel And A Peck". This idea came from my niece, Josie. She is a HUGE fan of this song. We have asked her to sing it to us so many times that she just roles her eyes and runs the other way, now.
Again, I want to ask for your prayers. This is our 5th day after Terry's surgery. She is still on the ventilator. They will be transferring her to a long term acute care facility, in Indianapolis called Seton House. This will happen some time in the next week, when they feel like she is stable enough. They specialize in ventilator dependence. Dad, of course is missing his best buddy and we pray for her recovery. Please pray with us.

Terry will be in my prayers today.
Yes, the Chair Affair write up says it all very accurately. Great job...I'm excited to see what this year's auction will generate!
I will continue to keep Terry in my prayers.
Your chair looks adorable.
