Sunday, Carol and I experienced her first tumbling/cheer competition. It was quite an experience. Hundreds of girls were there from all over the state. The competition was held at the Westfield Middle School. Their team did a wonderful job, considering it was their first time out. I was very impressed. The team placed second in their division. The team started together in September. After a month and some differences in opinion one coach left and took some kids with her, so we had to reorganize and add new team members. In the end, these girls slapped together a routine in about 6 weeks! In the future I will try to take a video and post it so you can get an idea of the precision that this takes. There was quite a bit of hurry up and wait time, so I did a lot of knitting. Julie and Sara McDonald, cousins from Lafayette joined us and cheered the team on. Awards were announced at 8:30pm. We returned home at 10:30pm very tired and ready for bed.
